I felt really good bowling yesterday overall -- I was pretty much in the pocket.....
Even though I was pretty much in the pocket -- I stared with:
* Solid 8-10/open
* Solid 7/spare
* Solid 10/missed
* 2-pin/spare
* Strike
* 9-pin/spare
==> So I left the back row in the first six frames ==> not a great way to score. I doubled in the 10 to get to 184 (and I needed the first spare to beat my girlfriend, who had a 170 and a three bagger in the ninth and tenth.).
Next game -- every ball near the pocket, and a solid 214
Game three:
* Three Strikes
* Solid 10/open (missed by a hair, but knew I was in trouble off my hand)
* 5 bagger
==> Finished with a 244-642 (team split)
1) I am glad I did not lose it mentally after the first 6 frame - often happens that you get the best carry after getting royally screwed. All you can do is throw the ball.
2) My girlfriend told me to change balls after 6 frames -- glad I did not listen to her. I know the ball reaction was good - sometimes you get tapped.
3) When you practice, you are not looking to throw strikes - you are trying to match up with the lane.
4) Watch your ball reaction, not just your scores when making adjustments.
